The height of fashion

The Fashion faculty at American InterContinental University (AIU) London has once again supported EBT with proceeds from its prestigious Graduate Fashion Show, held at the wonderful One Marylebone venue. Almost £1,000 was raised on the night, taking AIU’s support to over £2,500 to date.

AIU has been supporting us since 2008 through the show, in which students completing their Fashion Marketing and Design degrees showcase their work to leading fashion industry dignitaries and the press.

The students are responsible for coordinating the show from start to finish – in producing the garments, marketing the event, booking the models and nominating the charity to support. Philip Holmes and volunteer Stephanie Jones were among the 200 guests attending the invitation-only evening show.

Soul singer Kym Mazelle gave a powerful performance to open the event which also featured Lizzy Cundy as guest model. All proceeds from the evening of glitz and glamour went to The Esther Benjamins Trust.

We are extremely grateful to AIU Dean of Fashion, Gill Stark (pictured top left with Philip) for helping to bring all of this together and for the huge gesture of support from everyone connected with AIU. It means a great deal to everyone concerned with EBT to have this level of support.

Gill commented: “Celebrating the beginning of young graduates’ professional journeys wouldn’t seem right without raising as much money as possible for those less fortunate. We chose The Esther Benjamins Trust as they are a growing charity providing not only residential care but also education and vocational training initiatives for some of Nepal's most marginalised young people.”
